What oil should I use to preserve my solid oak dining room table?

Answers:
We have a very old oak dining room table. The best thing is to rub it down with Old English wood oil every year or so. Keeps it from drying out, cleans, and brings out the grain. Just follow the directions. We like the orange scented. You may want to check with a business which does refinishing to see what they recommend, just to be sure.
If you are looking for a finish, polyurethane will be best. If you just want oil to preserve the moisture in the wood, lemon oil will work just fine.
Lemon oil is the best for fine furniture. It keeps you furniture looking like new.
Linseed oil
ANGEL is correct. According to V&A Museum they use Linseed oil mixed with meths, vinegar, and turps., apparently that is what they use on antique furniture, it not only cleans , but it feeds the wood and does not upset the patina. I would imagine that it would be equal parts.
