Who Knows about Ladybirds (insects) & their value?
Answers:
about 5p per 1000 I think
If you go to Thailand they have ladyboys
They're worth £42 - hope that helps.
are you talking about ecological value or how much you can sell them for? I do not know of a market for them as they are common but the rare types may get some limited interest but remember rare types are probably protected.
ecologically some species are useful to gardeners as predators of aphids but not as beneficial as some claim. as a food source they are bitter tasting so birds avoid them. the population is pretty small compared to other insects so they have little impact on the ecosystem
I know they are fantastic for eating aphids off my roses,or you could call them greenfly.Ladybirds eat everything that is munching my plants. They do a good job!
I don't really know what you're after, but here's a site with lots of Ladybird info.

They can eat aphids which are harmful to plants. (Ants also such the sweet secretion by aphids and in turn protect them from danger.) This method also does not need pesticide so in a way, ladybugs help the environment. Therefore, they are ecologically important.
