When should I prune my roses? (southern Hemisphere)?

Answers:
my garden is full of roses, LOVE THEM. after they have flowered, cut off the dead heads , you should then get more flowers. feed them once a week or fortnight with tomato feed. ( i find the roses like this, as it is high in potash, etc.) in november, prune them to half their height. this helps protect them from strong winds through winter. at the end of march, prune them down to about a foot from the ground.in april i scatter chicken manure pellets around them. never plant the knobbly bit at the base of a rose as this is where new shoots grow from. rambling roses, and old english roses only need to be trimmed up (any branches gone astray) with climbers, you find the main stems, and prune all side shoots from that stem to about 4 inches in november. then sit back and enjoy !!!
Well, you don't want to pick them first so you should prune them where they are growing
after they have flowered if dead heading
or after the whole flower season if harder pruning.

Go away.
earlt spring and cut all the roses after they finish from the 2nd leafe,
no dead head them when flower is dead , prune about march
MY FRIEND AND ROSE NUT TELLS ME TO PRUNE THE DEAD FLOWERS BACK TO THE FIFTH LEAF AND TO PRUNE IN FALL WHEN YOU'RE PREPARING THEM FOR WINTER. ALSO, CHECK ORGANIC GARDENING'S WEB SITE, IT HAS TONS OF STUFF.
when the flowers have finished not knowing the plant variety ie climber/tea rose or hybrid you should give the plants bonemeal after you have pruned and protect from wind and frost goodluck
