Does anyone know what my rights are with a Moben kitchen I had fitted 5 years ago that is now falling apart?
the kitchen was supplied and fitted by an independent kitchen fitter. The laminated doors on all kitchen doors and drawers are now peeling off and tearing

Blame Bush for your kitchen problems. His is blamed for everything else these days.
well the person who fitted it has nothing to do with it
It depends on whether it was guaranteed or not and for how long. I don't really think you have much chance of them repairing or replacing anything for free.
you could try getting hold of consumer direct theyre very knowledgable in these areas not sure of the number though just check out their website www.consumerdirect.gov.uk
unfortunately unless you have the original receipt and you have a guarantee from the kitchen fitter there is not a lot you can do.but however you could try to claim for damage from your house insurance.
Go to your local news channel.get their "advocate" involved. They can shame companies into fixing things.however, you have to have tried to remedy with the company yourself and have a paper trail proving it.
mine with MFI and i was so scared of independent fitter thats why i go with the one come with MFI and pay silly money for it. then when they finished, well nearly,i got to tiling the wall then they said will come back later when i finished the tilling to put the glass shelfs up but never turn up again.i try and try his own number but he never answer it, try MFI they said will sort something out soon..hahahha funny enough, i got it done in Match and til now it not all finish yet! cant u belive it? i dont belive MFI could be that bad.warning for u all out there!
if its 5 years ago then you will be very lucky to get anywhere try getting in contact with the manufactuers they maybe able to examine the kitchen units and determine whether they were fitted right or not or if it is a product problem around that time of purchase thats wot i did and the fitter was not to blame they rectified everything within 8 weeks
Helen, I told you to replace the cabinets with new ones, not to resurface them. You have to listen to my advice.
5 Years you need new one now.
Depends on how long your guarantee was. If, as should be, it was a life-time guarantee, the supplier is liable.
