Can i stop sky tv from calling me with promotions.?

I have cable tv, which iam happy with, but sky tv ring every day and ask me to change.

Answers:
ask to speak to their manager and then request that your details are removed from all of their lists and if they ring again ask to speak to the manager again and tell them that this is now harrasment and you will be seeking legal advice! they will never call you again :)
whistle in the telephone
Threaten to sue them if they call again. Try it. Might work
If you are in the UK then subscribe to the telephone preference service - it then becomes an offence for them to do so.
change you number
ask them to remove your details from their list and tell them that it is an offence under the data protection act for them not to remove your details if you have requested it. You can also put it in writing to them then you have more to go on if they persist.
Alternatively speak in a foreign language when they call and they will soon stop calling ! Works with most sales calls....
In the UK we have the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and if your phone is with BT I suggest signing up for BT Privacy, it works!

Be rude to them down the phone (VERY rude) and they will put your number on a blacklist and not phone you again!
pull the telephone cable out from the phone
try the following
1 they have the wrong number u r a funeral home and its not required
2 report it a nuisance calls to your cable company.
3 request your details are deleted from their database.
4 threaten legal action if they continue to call

I use the first one and it seems to always work for me
Tell them you live in a monastary or you live on the very top floor of a very dodgy block of flats which is situated in a very hostile part of town where even the dogs carry flick knives! an d you recommend they come no where near you just in case!
Yes. Just put the phone down each time they call, they will soon give up.
If you are really fed up with them just leave the phone on the side and leave the caller to talkl to themselves. It works
In the States we have a "Do Not Call" registry. It's a telephone number to call to ask that your name and phone number be taking off solicitation lists. Perhaps the UK has something similar?

If not, I'd speak to the manager and request that they take you off their call list.

Then if all else fails, do what Jerry Seinfeld did: when they call, say "This is not a good time. Give me your home number and I'll call you later. Oh, you don't want to be called at home? Well now you know how I feel!" I've actually done this, and it feels great just saying it!
NO I PUT THE ANSWER PHONE ON AS THEY DRIVE ME CRAZY
