Why do the tadpoles in my pond keep beaching themselves?

Answers:
Probably getting ready to start growing legs. Turning into frogs.
maybe the pond water is too high.
Maybe the water quality is unfit for them, fish will jump out of the tank if they feel its unfit to live in. Might be too warm in this weather.
When I encounter streams with tadpoles, the tadpoles are in the very slow, very shallow water, where they can just lay in the sun, in the sand. They like the water about 2 inches deep at the most.

Does your pond have a very, very shallow, sandy area for them to bask in the sun? If so, do you top off the pond so that area stays wet, or does the water evaporate and that sun basking area dries up?

Does your pond have predators that eat the tadpoles and they are trying to escape, but get stuck in the shallows?
I would check the water for alkaline. Take a sample to yr local pool supply store. They can test it there. Might cost $.
tadpoles are in fact mini whales..if the tadpoles are being threatened by maybe a great white shark in your pond, then this could be the reason. Is there any evidence of Norwegian or Japanese whaling fleets operating on your pond?..this could also be the reason.
