How much should it cost to get additional aerial sockets fitted in bedrooms?
Answers:
It depends on where you live and also how much cable is needed. In an average house, I would guesstimate it at around £20-30.
about £100
No more than £40 tops.
It Depends Really Call a Small Local Trader they are usually alot cheaper try www.yell.com and you should find a whole load also it will depend on the number bedroom in your home
do you really want the walls tracked and socket put in is it for two rooms or one.probably around £80 to £100
If you can bring a lead up from tv downstairs yourself and connect to the tv upstairs its less than ten.
If you are a bit handy at the old d.i.y. And you are ok with heights. Wich doe's help. About £20 deppending on the amount of coax used. Apart from that. Get quotes. I do all my own d.i.y. Hope this has help. Something to bear in mind. The shorter the cable used. The better the picture will be.
I recently got mine done for £60.00. They had to trail the cable over the roof though so I think they charged me a bit extra for the extra cable.
Depending on how far you are from another in use socket or how far and accessible the room is from the outside aerial. Also do you want it surface mounting or integrated with the wall.
The above options would cost between £50 and £200
When I was at uni, 10 of us in the house wanted one, we paid about £20 or 30 each. It was a big house and a huge job so £300 for the hole house seemed okay to us! It may be more for only one or 2 new aerials.
If you have plasterboard walls and there is an existing aerial socket on the other side of the wall then it's really easy to buy a socket yourself and just cut through the wall, use some co-axial cable to create a spur off the scoket and wire it in to a new socket on this side of the wall. Should only cost £10-15.
If you split an aerial between two sockets, you loose picture quality. To do it proply you will need an amplifier designed for the job, each new wall socket will have a cable running directly from the amplfier to it and to it only.
The more sockets you have, the more cables you will need.
If you allow £20.00 per socket for the parts plus an hours labour £20-£30 plus the amplifier
Seems you already have an aerial feed. That feed will have to be split, using an aerial amplifier(VERY important, one Aerial cannot feed 2 TVs without loss of signal) Amplifiers are about £30. Add the cost of sockets, backboxes, Co-Ax cable, plugs (one for each) then, assuming each run will be from the loft, 8ft lengths of Mini-Trunking, one for each socket. Assuming you are in UK, and able to fix to your walls, the total cost of bits £30.00 + £15 per socket. The link will give you an idea of the amplifier, but you can get all the bits in Homebase, B&Q or Wickes.its an easy job.
You need to ring local electricians or aerial/tv installers. They generally have a fixed price per socket but it also will depend on type of house, decor, carpets etc. They all add to the difficulty of the job.If you're in the north west i work all over lancs, yorkshire and manchester.you can email me on accebs@yahoo.co.uk
