How do I fit the motor belt on my singer 413 sewing machine?
Answers:
All motors driven by belts have a mechanism that allows the loosening of the spool (usually the one away from the motor), so that the belt can be removed and checked or replaced. Look for a butterfly nut near the spool. It is loosened and tightened in the usual directions (lefty loosy, righty tighty). It shouldn't take much effort to loosen the spool. These are only meant to be hand tightened. After replacing your belt, pull the spool out until it's tight on each side of the spool, then tighten the butterfly nut again.
eh! dunno
yes sometimes you can loosen the spool or pully but also sometimes you need to force the belt just a bit more. I sometimes have had to use a screwdriver, by sitting the tip on the spool and under the belt, while slowly turning the pulley and belt pushing it slowly onto the pulleys direction till it pops in
