How do i turn off the electric hob lighter on my gas hob? it's going of it's own accord!?
ok it still works if I depress the button but it clicks / sparks every 20 seconds - it started doing this cos I cleaned the hob I don't think any water got in there but surely it should have dried out by now if it did get in - can you help ? it's getting like chinese water torture !
Answers:
Turn off the electricity for 24 hour, to give it time to dry out.
i would call a priest in it is obviously pocessed by an evil presence
If it's battery operated , take the battery out.
EXORCISM!
the same thing happened to mine. it just kept clicking.in the end i had to call a rather expensive electrician who dismantled the ignition and found that a piece of dried food was stuck to a little thingy that depresses when the ignition button is pressed..the food was causing the ignition to think it was being pressed and it kept ticking..had nothing to do with the cleaning. pull yr cooker out and see if there is anything u can see on bk..if not save money and switch off ant mains only turning it on to use!
either take the battery out or turn off at mains
