Button in my fridge.?
There is a button in my fridge, when I press the button it lights up (I'm not talking about the fridge light). What is this button for? It is a "whirlpool" fridge-freezer. Should it be lit or unlit? We inherited the fridge so we dont have any instruction manuel.

I would guess you are talking about the "energy saver switch". It is located on the control panel. I recommend that you keep it in the use position. That switch controls a low wattage heater located in the strip between the freezer and fresh food doors and it's purpose is to keep that strip warm so humid air does not condense on the strip that would normally be cold. It prevents the strip from getting rusty, the door gaskets from getting mold and mildew growth and water from running onto the floor. I have seen refrigerators get really ugly looking just because this switch was in the wrong position. As far as energy saving we are talking about 2-3 cents per month on the electric bill. At that rate it is better to keep it on all of the time to prevent the rust and mold and someone flying on a wet floor.
some fridge freezers have a FAST FREEZE button, may be that, for after cleaning out fridge/freezer etc
try looking for it on their website. they may have a manual you can download. good luck
sounds like a fast freeze button to me
most likely a fast freeze or "superfreeze" button
Ask the company manager. He'll give u all the instructions and the use/function of evry button.Or try finding out on their website.
Sounds like the fast freeze switch. When you switch it on the fridge gas will keep flowing after it has reached its cut out temperature. It should only be used when you first stock the fridge up then switch it off a maximum of about 2 hours. Otherwise your just running the freezer continuously for no reason.
it may be a defrost button for the freezer depending on how old the unit but www.whirlpool.com will surely have the answer.
