we have it on "4" at the moment but it seems to be freezing all the food ,stuff like cooked meats ect
anyone know what settings to use in summer and winter
cheers

Answers:
each fridge is different as to the settings set it to the medium setting halfway between the min and max settings if it is still freezing you meats etc then the thermostat has gone and will require a engineer visit
I pretty much leave mine at 5 year round.
i put mine on 3 in summer and 2 in winter mine goes up to 6 if thats any help
don't rely on numbered settings they vary from frig to frig, U need a accurate themometer, indside the frig should be no less than 40 degrees the freezer around zero
When your setting is keeping the ice cream in the freezer just soft enough to dip but not melted, everything else should be about right.
I leave mine the same all year long. if some of your meat is freezing now it can be a number of reasons. for one thing the weather is starting to cool off a bit so the fridge does not have to work as hard to keep things cool, you also may not have the same amount of items in your fridge right now as you had before which affects everything too, as well as which shelf you have the items on.. and of course you may need to have your fridge serviced..
You don't need to change it for the season..the inside of it stays at the temp you set it ...regardless of the outside temp..doh!
Just lower it to 3 and leave it at that all year round.
My goodness ..how many thick people have answered this question.
leave it at one setting try 3 , if you have humidity control check it. you may have a setting for freezer also check it.
If your food is freezing you need to make it a little warmer. Use a thermometer and make sure the temerature remains above 32 degrees. 34 degrees is nice if you can get it. You don't need to adjust the temperature based on the season of the year as your refrigerator may need adjusted as it ages.
leave it set at 3 as the ambient temp of the room makes no difference to the insulated inside of a fridge !

It has a thermostat to compensate for weather, and any other crap that people have answered.
Get a thermometer and adjust the stat until it settles at +5-6C, you dont need to adjust for summer/winter the thermostat will keep it at the same temperature no matter the ambient. Thats what it's for.

If its freezing everything it could be a faulty thermostat. (stuck on)

By the way. FRIDGE with a D

REFRIGERATOR without a D id the correct spelling. :)
i think 4 seems quite low.? i thought the higher the number the colder it gets or am i thick?
you should adjust it with the weather the hotter it is the higher the settings should be the colder it is the lower fridges work by sucking in air hence the settings
perhaps you have a problem with the fridges thermostat, i keep mine 4 almost all the year round
After selling fridges for a couple of years, I started to get complaints very similar to this. It's usually 1 of 3 things.

1. Check the seal arround the fridge - a small gap or fold can cause this.
2. New fridges can't cope with being outside or in a garage. If the temperature outside the fridge drops below the temperature inside, then the thermostat will switch the fridge off. When the temperature outside rises again, the fridge goes into overdrive and freezes everything. To solve this you need to keep the temperature outside the fridge above the ambient temperature - normally 3 - 5 degrees.
3. You're thermostat is knackered.

If it's none of these and is constantly freezing, you probably just need to turn it down. If it freezes just sometimes, you've got a problem.
