How do i make my room look bigger?

i mean, ive got an average sized room but it looks really small. help!

Answers:
Keep it simple - no big bold patterns on anything. Light colours open up a room. Try moving your furniture around too - it can make a difference just putting things in different positions, also you have to tidy it all up before you move it - decluttering works every time.
no clutter, plain colours and mirrors
mirrored walls? :)
Definitely mirrors
light, bright colours
lighter colours and lots of light
you have to use bright colors like white walls with neutral colored accessories it make's it look big and clean
Mirrors
Light colors. A lighter colored ceiling will make it look taller.
Open spaces in the middle of the room.not too much clutter. Clean out hte clutter.
white walls and mirrors
Mirrors of course. But if you want a taller appearance use wallpaper with vertical design. If you want longer use horizantal stripes! Its all about depth perception sister.
have the least amount of things (inc. furniture) in the room.
a big mirror on one of the end walls
Knock down a wall or
move!
Less clutter, Lighter colours, Mirrors & A focal point
i agree that keeping it tidy and free of clutter will help. Adopt a minamilist style but do do a search on the subject for some great advice. for example, stylists say that using large tiles in a small bathroom makes it look bigger-- i agree.

wallpaper and paint choices will make the difference if you have a minimal style. light paint removes the claustrophobic feeling from a room. mirror panels may provide a good effect if placed on an open wall.

try rearranging furniture, live with it for a few days and find the compromise between what makes the room appear bigger and what is functional and feels comfortable to live in
to make a room look bigger you should have white walls and try not to use busy patterns , also get patio doors leading out use tyles or wooden flooring not carpet :) good luck!
Mirrors, windows, light colours, lots of light, no clutter, smaller bed, only essentials.
buy some binoculars,
separate all the furniture to get more room in the middle
big mirrors
Neutral Colours and Large Mirrors in line of Patio Windows or Bay Windows doubles the Size of a Room and a Large Mirror behind a Sofa doubles the Width too.
empty it
declutter and light colours plus mirrows are good
