Answers:
This happened to us last year. Pick all the tomatoes then put them to a drawer lined with newspaper, then put a couple of bananas in then lay some more paper on top and shut the drawer. You will find they ripen within a few days
Put a banana at the bottom of the plant. it gives of stuff that makes things ripen.
Not enough fertilizer. Dont overdo it though.
sometimes over-watering can be the suspect, but then probably not, worth considering. you did say singular plant, then as a last resort pinch out the smallest of the clusters leaving the best to grow through. you did say lots of clusters, so hopefully pinching out some will help?
Next time DO NOT PLANT UNDER THE SHADE TREE..aaarggghhh. aaaagghhhhhh. anyhow..do some 'mini fried green tomatoes' write a book win an oscar and retire....
ethylene gas , bannanna skins and other things do this, mostly stop watering, if they still dont ripen on the plant pick them leaving them on the vine and hang them in a sunny window.
also cut off a lot of leaf.
TRY MIRACLE GROW..OR MAYBE YOUVE PURCHASED A TOMATIA..THEY STAY GREEN EVEN WHEN READY...DONT KNOW IF THATS SPELLED CORRECTLY
If you have the toms the plant is happy and healthy. Its not had enough sun to ripen the fruit yet. Hang in there. If they dont ripen in a few weeks put them in a paper bag in a dark drawer and hey presto they ripen!
give it more time!it will get ripe! for some reason this year tomatoes are taking a while!also check through out the plant ,like underneath and in the back and in the middle for ripe ones!sometimes we have a tendancy to just keep an eye on the ones we can see and those are usually the new ones!
If you are in the UK it is still a bit early for the tomatoes to ripen, mine are only just beginning to "turn"
It may be you planted a determinate variety (where they all tend to be ready for market within a few days). If they are otherwise ok, they just need more time.
If between stem and branch there are little suckers pick them off . But it,s probrably not enough sun light on them. Also tomatoes can take a lot of watering!
