How would you servive with no electric?
if it was all turned off today ,and was never to be anymore ,what changes would you have in your life ,and how do you think you would cope?

I lived without electricity in the 1980's for several years while we were building a house ourselves. I learned to live very simply, and do things by hand (washing, sweeping, chopping food, etc., vs. automatic washer, vaccuum, appliances, etc.). The hardest change was not having running water. We pumped it by hand and carried it in pails. this is very tiresome, and you soon learn not to waste water! Especially when it's heated 5 gallons at a time on the wood stove.
We did not have TV, or stereo. Lights were stinky kerosene lamps, which had glass chimneys that had to be cleaned daily. We were too busy doing basic chores and hobbies (and our house building)to have time for TV. It was a quiet, peaceful lifestyle.
I could do it all again if necessary, although I'd still miss the running water. I know that in many places in the world, people live without electricity. We in the industrialized nations are rather spoiled by the conveniences of electricity.

i'd get a gas cooker and stock up my larder
I will get out that generator in the basement which my husband got at the Home Depot.
The thought of that makes me scared i dont think i could go without electric..I suppose eventually humans would adapt and maybe find something to replace electric..
I would go to the grocery store and get lots of food. Then I would build a big fire on the front lawn and eat until the power guy came. The power guy can fix all power problems!
This would mean our whole society would collapse. so i would run to the mountains somewhere in tennesse and farm some seeds to live out of. That would probably last six months till i went insane . they i don't know what i would do.
With great difficulty, more than you imagine. Try switching it off at the mains for a day!
Where I live we have lots of electric cuts. That's why I have a generator!
Mankind is very adaptable. Many people in rural areas of Ireland didn't have electricity until the 1950s and they managed fine without it.

it's been done by people more primitive then us, we would cope like we usually do, humans are very resourceful
Well to start with, I wouldn't be able to answer anymore UKQnA.com. I'd definitely stock up on candles and since I live in a condo, I'd need to investigate getting a gas camping cooker.
Luckily I only live on the the 4th floor, so the stairs wouldn't be a problem. I can walk to work, it's only about 40 minutes. Since I live in Canada.our winters get pretty cold, I'd need to see about putting in some sort of heating system...maybe a wood stove that vents out the balcony door?
Since our society relies heavily on transportation of foods from growing areas (I'd want to stock up on canned goods), it might be a bit lean for the first little while..but we could probably manage.
Went to holiday. Hot water was cut off first,; some idiot burst the cold water supply because of that electricity went off is well.. And we did had a fantastic time without all that for 3 days! it wasn't bad. You can appreciate more what you have

Cope might be acceptable for those who haven't the desire to thrive. As for me I'd be happy to un evolve technologically. Certainly life would be,,,and was different, but I assume that adjusting is part of what our species is about.
