Hi HOW TO RE-POINT A WALL thanks Brian?

Answers:
chip or grind out old mortar to a depth of about 1/4 inch
mix 1 part cement to 3 parts red builders sand, gradually add water, not to much, you need a "stiff" mixing. Dampen the wall,a small hand spray is best, don't overdo this.press home the mortar,It's one of those jobs that you soon get the hang of,but it's so boring, best of luck to you .
dig all the old stuff out with a rusty fork . and then smear new stuff messily in the line bits ! .. worked for me for about 2 minutes . then i called a 'MAN WHO CAN' to do it !

Good luck !
You can get books from the library that show you how to do stuff like this, with photos. Its not too difficult but no fun up the ladder.
buy a pointing trowel from any hardware store ..scrape out old cement wet ..dampen the wall .. apply new cement with your recently purchest pointing trowel ..easy peasy..good luck..
Gouge out old mortar to a depth of 6mm approx.Wet joint area and apply new mortar (1 part cement to 3 parts sand) with pointing trowel.Mix mortar fairly stiff otherwise it will just drip out of the joints. Put on some music you like because this job is so boring. Best of luck.
you can hire a little gadget that you can cut all the old mortar away with otherwise it the old chipping hammer that is slow and painfull the get a pointing trowel and bung the mortar back in
