What would happen if i didn't service my gas boiler every year?
Want to find out what happens and why we should have boilers serviced every year- I know there is a danger of carbon monoxide poisoning but what else?
Answers:
It could break down or become less efficient. In most instances, it is better to have planned preventative maintenence to prevent problems arising in the first instance.
On some contracts, where the boiler does need to be replaced, they will often offer you a discount.
you might save some money

lmao want to see you and your boiler flying through the air after your house explodes KABOOM
We left ours for a while and ended up with some huge holes in the internal piping which were leaking carbon monoxide into the house. Don't leave it.
explosion due to excess pressure buildup inside the boiler!
The pipes could get corroded and leak, so you wont get any heating, the jets burn wrongly, becoming less efficient, less heat per gas unit, jets on pilot light become blocked, no ingnition, no heating. and of course the daddy of them all, and you dismiss is a bit. Carbon monoxide leaking into the air in the house, means death to those in the house. The blood binds 200 time more carbon monoxide than oxygen, therefore a concentration of just 0.5% means you will quickly get a blood level of 50%, and that means seriously ill, 60% usually is fatal. Carbon monoxide is oudourless, tasteless and colourless, which is why it is so dangerous.
Your house will explode in 3, 2, 1- KABOOM!!!!!
Not alot - they only usually hoover the gas jets. But your insurance wouldn't payout if you hadn't..
Birds nests & dead birds are the main problem - they block the flue & you get co poisioning
