The acrylic sinktop in our kitchen has become badly stained. What is the best method of cleaning it ?
Answers:
Watch more TV to find a good mop, and watch even more TV to find good mopping soap!
baking soda and enough water to make a paste. scrub until you cant anymore. then do it again!
if is white, just bleach it, if its color, wipe it with a wet (not damp) rag and sprinkle with comet while its still wet, then scrub.works everytime for me.
Biological washing powder mixed to a paste with water. Heat with a hairdryer (taking sensible safety precautions) & the enzymes will eat through the stain without harming the inorganic materials that constitute your sink.
spray clorox cleanup on it and let it sit for about 20 minutes. I do this and it comes sparkling clean!
Try a plastics cleaner. Maybe a good local hardware store or Tap Plastics would carry the cleraning item you need.

I've bleached some awful stains out of a lot of rental apartment countertops with 'Vim' brand 'cream bleach' --

-- which, for whatever reason, works much better than ordinary bleach, and which really does take out even the worst sorts of stains.
Test it in a small area; it can make things a bit lighter than they originally were -- though it's never removed a pattern that's meant to be there. Put on a thick layer and leave it to dry; no scrubbing needed. Cheap, too (though you may need a few bottles if it's a large area).
Try wetting it and then spirinkle Bicarbonate of Soda over it, leave it for a bit, give it a good scrub then rinse. Apparently its good for removing most stains. Good luck!
