Washing machine water for toilets?

Has anyone used their waste washing machine water to fill their toilet cistern? If so, how did you set it up? Are their any problems with doing this?

Answers:
if you have a septic system try to find a place to drain the washing machine water to like your back yard or roses. if you have a city sewer i suppose you could but the toilet only holds 1-5 gallons of water so you would need a holding tank,it could be done by gravity and a float ball stop system.
Problem: Giant Brown Bubbles.
have not. but there was a toilet fair in my town recently with all kinds of new products. i'll try an dig something up and email you.
there is if you have a septic tank.
yeah u have to be carefull when dong this
the outflow pipe from the washing machine connects to the inlet of the washing machine eg a rather thick pipe to store the water.
then u need to have an overflow pipe in the cistern so it doesnt overflow.
and a flow switch to switch the feed from the machine to the mains supply.
any hair and material particles will eventually clog the over fill hole in the cistern.. wont be a nice mess to clean up.
IKEA stores.. filter the rainwater off the roof to flush their toilets.
Waste water from washing machines, dish washers, washing basins is called "gray water", and is re-used in some "green" buildings. But there are a few things to consider..

I have really thought of this myself I live in a rural area and we have a septic tank and all my gray water (sinks, tub, shower, and washer ) actually bypass my septic tank to my seep line and i thought if i built a holding tank to hold this water i could use it for my garden and toilet using a electric pump and a electric float system on the toilet the only problem i can forsee would be the need to filter the water for trash from my sinks ,but i believe that it would be possible to set up fairly reasonable and would pay for it self in no time several plastic barrels and a pump would be the basic system and a little plumbing know how ?
I was a plumber now retired. Don't bother its not worth the effort. You would have to replumb the toilet from a special storage tank in the roof void, also a holding tank and an electric pump to pump the grey water from the holding tank to the roof tank. If you are hellbent on doing this then yes it can be done..
Everytime you flush there will be soap all over the place.
store the water in a holding tank
and divert flow to the wc
