When laying new turf do i need to water it every day & whats best to use to keep weeds at bay?
Answers:
You have to keep the soil humid, so watering depends on how much sun is there. Sunny paces may require watering every two days. Shady places, once a week. For weeds, do not use herbicides (they are linked to an increase in cancer in pets and children). Just mow your lawn regularly so weeds will not flower and reseed themselves. You can also remove weeds by hand by allowing them to grow and remove them when they grow taller than the grass (but before they reseed).
Depending on where you live, YES, you need to water it everyday, the difference would be for how long, if you live in a humid/moist climate, (NE or NW USA) you would only need to water it daily for the first week or so, however, if you live in TX or similar, you would have to water it daily for at least two weeks.
Any of the Scott's products are good for weed control.
Always water at night that way the water can get into the soil well before the sun evaporates it. Watering every night isn't always necessary but you might think of every other night and the last couple of nights mix in some grass fertilizer that will help to keep down weeds.
