Is there a natural way of getting rid of chafer grub from a lawn or will the lawn need replacing?
the infestation seems to be localised and birds have made holes searching for the grub.Other animals have created bigger holes. The grub has been identified as Chafer and is making a real mess of the lawn.Chemicals have been suggested but I wondered is there a basic natural product that could be used or am I just being naive and over optimistic. Please advise if you can and thank you.

I know some people really hate to use chemicals, but they do work well. The Scotts and Bayer Advanced products work well. You don't have to apply it all over your yard, especially if the grubs are in a localized area.
Nematodes should work. This is another good option because as the nematodes infect the grub, they produce more nematodes, so you have more in the soil. Once the grubs are gone, however, the nematodes will die out since their food source is gone. The bad thing about nematodes is that it will take time and the grubs could cause more damage before the nematodes have a chance to have an effect. Becker Underwood is the company that produces these. They do a lot of research on nema's. Check out their website. http://www.beckerunderwood.com/.
take one part lemon dish soap to three parts water in a sprayer then put on hose the citrus in the soap will stop them from spreading and they will die from lack of food
Hi,
Nematodes which eat grubs are a great organic control for these pests. Hurry, now is the time to treat! After the 3rd week in August, applications will not be as effective. Apply again in Spring, after last frost.
Here's a site that tells more about them:

Good luck!
