Leather Coat drying?
What can i use to clean my leather trench coat with after being in the rain? I cannot afford dry cleaners

I use a moist wash cloth on mine. If you need more than that they sell leather cleaner in the stores.
I cant see your coat so don't take my word for it .
Dubbin or Saddle Soap
saddle soap.
you can also get leather care cream (auto-glym make stuff for leather car interiors that works great)
wipe with a damp sponge and polish it!
If you want to weatherproof it again then you will have to buy a specialist cleaning product.

If it is a fairly fine leather rather than a waxed or oiled leather then you shoudl wipe down all over with a damp sponge, you can use a good foam leather cleaner but make sure you know what it is. Do not use saddle soap or car prodcuts on it as they are too harsh for what you are doing. Dry carefully with a hairdryer massaging the leather as you do so. Then protect with a good water based leather protector.
The main problem with a leather coat that gets wet is it tends to get stiff when dried out. So what has to be done is to recondition the leather to make it soft and supple again. A product called BLACKROCK will clean the coat and condition it at the same time. You use very little. It will not change the color of the coat at all. In our leather store we use the product all the time. If you have trouble finding it (about $6.99 a jar). Another superb product is URAD and they have a website www.urad.com. Their excellent cleaner is AQUILA and conditioner URAD.
