The old problem of main. Cats have a very good sense of smell. So if you use something smelly they will go of. But the problem is that you already have unpleasant stitch and it's difficult to overcome. In my case the last straw was that dog went in my path is well. That evening I put soda bicarbonate everywhere where cats/dogs are probably will be at my doorway ext. Fanny but since then I have a quite life .without cats or dogs
high power water pistol
Cats hate water, if you can catch them in the act and spray them with water they will learn pretty fast. Otherwise and if your too lazy, buy a sprinkler with a motion sensor.
Well, I've seen a lot of houses where people put bottles of water out in their front yards to stop cats from using them as toilets. apparently the theory is that cats will not defecate near water. I don't know if it works, but a lot of people are doing it.
Other than that, you could try buying surplus anti-personal mines from the military and place a few thousand of them in your front yard. This will have the added bonus of making your house the most exciting one on the block.
You can buy stuff you spray that cats hate from like b&q
OR this idea you may not like but if you put down cat food like scatter cat biscuits over the drive the cats will not go to the toilet where they eat and then you stop putting food down there eventually!
Good luck with this problem. You can put lime down and the odor will go away, but don't know if the cats will stay away.
I know that if you spinkle pepper around your garden it will work, cats and dogs hate it and it will stop them doing there toileting in your garden, it wont harm them either. i use it aronud my bushes which run along the front of my house, and now they have stopped.. good luck
A shot gun would stop them.
buy a dog! that should work! :)
apparently lion dung works quite well. but it has the side effect of smelling even worse. but it keeps the cats away
There is a plant called Coleus canina, according to the RSPB, which is often marketed under names such as Pee-off and Scaredy cat. Hope this helps !
mix cat repellent pellets in withthe gravel that should work. You can buy them from any good DIY or gardening store . But be nice to the cats .
I've read about using lion/tiger dung as it scares cats off.
My question is "How would an urban moggie know what lion/tiger dung smells like?"
It DOES work at home, but that's cos we have lions wandering around (but not in central Joburg or Cape Town) & the cats do seem to know the scent. My folks used to collect big cat **** from the local reserve & put it around the garden. Then again we dont get too many problems from cats as there are too many other predators around.
mousetraps. if it doesnt catch a paw the sudden snap will scare the cat away.
My brother had the same problem and yesterday went to a DIY store (Homebase) and bought a machine that acts on infra-red. it emits a high frequency noise that cats can't stand and will therefore stay clear of the area the contraption is situated. It costed about £35 but seems to do the trick.
get a dog
The best technique is to host an elegant garden party for all your neighbours but do not extend an invitation to any of the offending felines. Being suitably snubbed, they will never pop round again to use the toilet facilities.
Cover liberally with chilli pepper or black pepper.
I would recommend..slug pellets..they contain a repelant for cats and dogs I have used them in my garden and they seem to do the trick and are very cheap
I agree with the shot gun method, blast the little B.sterds
cover the area in strong pepper
Buy a raccoon trap, bait it with chicken. After catching a cat, fill a garbage pail with water to the top. Give the cat a big drink of water for about 10 minutes. Repeat often as necessary.
