late Geoff Hamilton
He was Geoff Hamilton who in addition to being a terrific gardener was very concerned about how things could be affordable. so he did not expect people to buy expensive pieces of kit but gave really good information on how to make your cloches (including the famous orange crate and plastic), paths, features, cold frames etc. He was a socialist as well as being one of the first TV gardeners to really push organic gardening and other environmentally friendly issues eg like not using peat or peat based composts.
the garden is still open and has it's own website. Geoff Hamilton wrote several books on gardening which are well worth obtaining.
