What causes leaves to become sticky and shrivel on my Impatients Dee?

Answers:
My indoor plants had an infestation of scale insects not long ago which made them sticky. You could see tiny brown scales on the underside of the leaves. You have to remove the scales by hand by wiping them off with a soft cloth dipped in soapy water, then spray the plant with insecticide. Maybe this is your Busy Lizzie's problem?
Impatiens leaves shrivel very quickly when they don't have enough water. I've never noticed them getting sticky though, but maybe they do. Anyway, watering them usually perks them right back up. :)
It could be scale, or aphid - the stickiness is the insect's secretions and the shrivelling is caused by them sucking out all of the leaves' goodness!
Pick off any affected leaves; if you are left with long bare stems them prune them back to a nodule or a healthy pair of leaves, and use a spray of soapy water or suitable insecticide to get rid of the bugs.
You might have some kind of spider mites. Make up a solution of 1 part dish soap to 3 parts water and spray over all of your plants.
sticky usually equals aphid infestation, or an advanced scale infestation. Aphids are easy to get rid of, scale can be quite intractable.
