What is a perch in relation to measurement of land?

If I bought a piece of land which was 2 perches long. How long is the piece of land I have just bought?

As far as I know you did not buy land you bought a 1.5 cubic meters of earth.
40 perches = 1 rood
4 roods = 1 acre

A perch is also a measurement of length. A perch, pole and rod are all terms for a measurement of length of approximately 5 metres (5.5 yards).
when i was at school it was on the back of our writing book
rod, pole, perch were all 5 and a half yards.
