What is the best way to clean my carpet?
i have a huge chinese rug that my dog has peed on, what can i use? i have most house hold products in my house and was wondering if anyone knows any way to clean it and get rid of the smell? ive had ppl in to do it but i dont think they do a great job.. and i would rather do it myself. I cant move it cos it weighs a ton. It is about an inch thick... Thanks

You want to use an enzyme cleaner. they're available at pet stores or even the large department stores. It eliminates the odor, give it some time, it may intensify at first but that is becuase it is working. I have personally used a product called "out" and it is available at Wal-Mart.
Rent a steamer - add a little vinegar to the cleaning solution to make sure it 'cuts' the smell where he marked it. The other products just wont work unless you have a way to extract them like the steamer does. It is worth investing in Bissell steamer for $100 or so IMO.
diesel will do wonders for removing the smell of dog pi55. Give it a go.
I just bought a product called urine gone stain & Odor Eliminator. It is non-toxic and safe for carpet, wood and tile floors and furniture. I bought it and 'Linens and Things' but I'm sure you can get it other places as well. It works for me as I have a new puppy I am training and it smells good too! Good luck with your problem.
Get somebody else to do it!
My friend hired a rug doctor from B&Q and did all his carpets when he moved house. He said the result was amazing.
It is for the Professionals to clean a beautifull rug like yours. I would not attempt to do it myself if I had spent a lot of money on it. There are PetSprays from Pet stores you can get to stop dogs returning to the same spot and "performing"
u shud get a steamer ive had 1 and it is really helpful xxxxx
Be very carefull you don't waste it , i think you could use a spray to take the smell away but it will not go away quickly BE CAREFULL
