Whens best to mow your lawn for the last time this year?

very overgrown due to rain in Cumbria !

Answers:
If overgrown, cut the height down gradually. The last cutting should be after if is completely done growing for the season.
2am
Mow it weekly until it stops growing for the winter....or on December 31 which ever comes first.
mid october!
Mow it. Your lawn could need mowing for quite a while yet depending on the weather. It's not like "no wearing white after Labor Day." Mow your lawn until it starts to get cold and your grass goes dormant. Then don't mow it anymore.
midnight
When the grass stops growing, if you get a dry sunny day mid November do it then.!!!
i would say for the last time this year ,31st december am, you might have to shift snow first
When the grass stops growing.
With milder winters and springs, it can be an idea to mow all-year round, if it continues to grow. If you let it get too long, it will be more difficult to cut in the spring, especially as it can't dry out properly.
Get it down now. It will be tuff if damp underneath.

Then watch it.it may go brown and patchy.but if the green bits start to grow..mow it..usually weekly.

Its a really good time to get grass seed down now as well.

So cut it weekly when it is a dry day Hmmmm...and if you keep this up you will then notice that you don't have to do it so often.you get to understand that it is slowing down for winter.

I usually stop mowing when the weather does not allow me to ie raining too much ground too boggy which is usually around October. So come spring..the first cut is hard but from then on weekly its a wiz.

So to confirm, get to know your lawn and it makes sense, we all Know when we need a haircut, cut your lawn now and carry on until you decide its no longer necessary.and if you cant be bothered now..just do it in spring.harder graft initially and it will look awfull for a while but it will pick up.
