Whats the worst that can happen eating mentos and drinking diet coke?

as iv been told there ment to explode in diet coke bottles.
just wondering if they would explode a human?
might sound weird but if its true i cant belive they sell these things in shops and lil kid might buy them and have a drink of diet coke.

I think it will be alright, I would not put a mento in a diet coke bottle but I think you can eat the mento then drink the diet soda later then it will be alright.
No! The worst that could happen is that you'd choke on the mentos and have diet coke come flying out your nose. That would be pretty bad.

When you gulp a can of Diet Coke and then swallow a whole Mentos without chewing it first, it is said that there will be a chemical effect that will happen in your stomach. Chlorofluorocarbon will be the result of the said reaction, and the next time you f-a-r-t, you're going to burn a hole in the ozone layer, the size of a medium-sized watermelon.
i imagine ur stomach acid would eat all of the gasses in the mentos up so nothing would happpen
It fizzes and you get a super sugar rush, you're high as a kite for ages and then you crash and have a belly ache .. what am i saying . all of it is fun so nothing.. NOTHING BAD HAPPENS :P

Yeh, I saw it on Richard Judy the other day. Quite amusing when you saw it happen to the bottles of coke - had never thort about what could actually happen inside someone. But then again, isnt it quite rare that someone wants to swig coke and eat mints at same time? I think it was a controlled experiment.

I dunno, Cokes been around for years so have mints. You could always be sucking a mint and fall over a coke bottle and either choke on the mint or be impaled by the coke bottle. You cant worry about everything.

Honestly, I think the worst that will happen is you'll burp a lot.

Coke normally de-gasses when it your stomach - so no more gas will be produced than it normally contains.

The mentos do NOT chemically react with the coke, but have the same effect as shaking it up & releasing all the gas quickly as the 'grains' in the mint propogate the rapid formation of the bubbles. Now IF you managed to knock back a pint of coke and then chewed up a whole load of mentos - you MIGHT get a projectile 'vomit' of foam..
