I think i had something similar try stretching it out when u get that pain again. It will hurt even more but it might just work i worked for me. Then eat a lot of potassium.
Try taking a potassium supplement or eat bananas (rich in potassium)
i suffer from similar and have done for a long time. if it continues ask doc for quinine sulphate it takes away the leg cramps
I've had the same thing -- problem was that I was low on my electrolytes due to the hot weather, sweating & drinking too much water. I drank so much water it flushed out my body salts. My doc suggested a cheap cure - no drugs needed. Take a chicken or beef bullion cube, crush it into a cup of hot water. Make a kind of broth. Drink it every night for about a week. Well, I did that & my pain and cramps are gone! Try it & good luck!
Yes, do check back with Doctor if persists, but how is your water intake? If you are in a summer month, like I am here, water depletion is pretty s.o.p. Try some. Good luck.
If the pain is not constant, it is probably not DVT (deep vain thombosis) -I've had it and the pain is extremely intense.

Are you hitting the gym harder than usually or doing anything out of the ordinary?

What'd the doc say it was?

Another oppinion is probably the best idea.

WebMD online can be helpful but is not a replacement for a face to face visit.
Drink Schweppes Indian Tonic water before bed - contains quinine and helps prevent leg cramps. I had this problem due to a lack of salt in my diet.
sounds like your potassium level is low. when it is low it causes muscle cramps.or charlie horses..eat bananas, they have the highest amount of potassium..did you drink alot of alcohol a couple to one day prior to this occurance. Alcohol strips your body of most of its potassium and dehydrates you.
Sounds like RLS..restless leg syndrome...talk to your doctor.
Your doctor was right. Peripheral arterial disease does not cause cramps only at night. Mineral supplementation (potassium, magnesium) may work, quinine (by pill or from tonic water) may help. There is no "cure", you & your doctor have to try things until you find one that works.
