Contact Shelter's Housing Advice Helpline - they have trained specialist people there with knowledge of all the laws and situation and advice, and whilst they can't rehouse you - they should be able to point you in the right direction - and direct you in the direction of their nearest office with specialist staff or another association that can help you.

Good luck!
they will have sheltered accomadation for you but you may not be together, but i dobt they will split you up,it will probably be a flat that they put you all in
The way I would understand it No body owes you anything. Was it is your grandmothers will that you get the house? Who did get the house? can you buy the house? Do you make payments? You may truley be out of luck and you may need to make arrangements.
and you waited until now.your best bet is to realy get your butt in gear. You and your husband are parents of 3 and your living there? You need to evaluate yourself and dont relay on any council.
Yes, they will evict you as your name was not on the rent book!

As for rehoming you, you could be lucky and be rehoused straight away, or you may end up in a B&B or hostal.
For God's sake, that's terrible..but you really should get a move on and find out now. Phone the council immediately. Don't mess about trying to find answers on here when you have children to consider. I wish you the very best of luck.and hope things work out for you.
unless u were put on the rent book i don't think u can stay. but if u make your case to the homeless persons unit. they will then decide if u have made your self intentionally homeless. saying that did u leave another council property to go live with your nan? its quite complicated. get some legal advice good luck
Providing you have proof that you cannot afford to live elsewhere they will put you into temporary shelter until a suitable lodging becomes available.
Why should it be the councils responsibility to re-home you? Did or do you pay them rent for the property or was it in your grans name? If it was in your grans name, then she was 'sub-letting' which I guess is a breach of tenancy. If it was in your name and you paid on-time, then there would be no repossession.

I guess you live in the nanny state UK, when some people expect the council and government to do everything for them without helping themselves. Get in touch with a local housing association, have some pride and self-worth. You pay a percentage of the rent, the association the rest.

Stop draining the resources of your country, if you want something work for it, don't expect someone to hand it to you on a plate!
They do not have to rehouse you if you are in rent arrears or did not apply to succeed the tenancy and supply them copies of the death certificate.
Those or nuisance are the only reasons I can think of that you would be evicted. Seek independant legal advice but once you are evicted by the council they do not have to rehouse you if it was for rent arrears.
