The Council for Registered Gas Installers
CORGI is a trade body - it doesnt represent the custoemrs or the governemtn it represents plumbers involved in gas plumbing
it stands for Confederation of Registered Gas Installers (CORGI)
it has done some sterling work in setting standards and encouraging safety - however it is a trade body that acts in the interests of its members, which may not be the same as the public. In many ways its a bit like NIC/EIC its has encouraged legistaltion which favours its members possibly at the expense of the public.
they are the national gas safety watch dog....they say i have to have a ventilator in the floor if i use my fire, wouldn't mind but the house is ancient and full of ventilation from all sorts of places.
