You can get free business cards and hand them out (vistaprint.com) and sometimes they have other free stuff you can order and hand out, but as far as Free advertising. I don't think such a thing happens anymore.

Most towns have local newspapers that have free advertising. With the normal newspapers Dating Agencies have to go in the personal section and some companies will charge premium rates for those. For some reason they are put into the same section as chat lines etc even if you don't have a premium rate number. If however you do decide to use a place where you have to pay, remember that for a continuous ad, (an advert in the same place every week for a pre agreed period of time), you may be offered some form of discount. Also never except the first price they give you as advertising is very competitive and they will almost definitely reduce the price if you say its too much.
