think you'll be a bit screwed for that. the one guy i know who dares to live in central london (works as an IT pro in canary wharf) has just sold his car as he couldn't really afford to keep it around. london is bloody expensive, central london more so, full stop.
unless you have a job and family there, why not explore other parts of britain? housing is cheap around birmingham for example, and there's no shortage of work. or you could try wales.
