customer services skills

Answers:
here's an example: if you're working at a fast food joint, someone with good customer service skills would not yell "CAN I HELP THE NEXT PERSON?" when there is obviously a line-up and i am obviously 'the next person'. Saying "can i help you" would be much more appropriate.

Customer service skills are something that can be learnt. First don't listen to the person who said you need to be able to spell. Most customer service is either done over the phone with spell checking on the system or it is done face to face.

You need to be able to help the customer as you would like to be helped, verbal nodding is a very good way of communicating with the customer, use probing questions, acknowledge the customer. If you are working in a call centre remember the customer has called because they have a problem, they didnt want to call the call centre (call centres have a bad name). Always always remember

Be Polite (manners get you every where)
Apologise (not to much tho as the customer will find it sarcastic)
Empathy (how would you like to treated if it was you having the problem.
Use the customers name for the personal approach.

The customer is always right even if we didnt think so.

I hope this has helped you.
