Just purchased 5 acre field near bristol, not green belt, field empty.can 1put a caravan here withoutpermission?

by putting caravan here, yes breaching planning, but surely if i move it across the field every month or so this would allow me to stay, without the council moving me on. or maybe have a few horses in the field as well ?

A tent might be a better alternative if you are trying to "get away with it", however South Gloucestershire County Council's policy on this type of activity will need to be checked out for your own peace of mind.

There are 3 ways you can do this officially - apply for a change to the use of the land for residential use or as an official "travellers site" ( both are unlikely to be successful) or get outline planning permission to develop it as a leisure facility, such as say a campsite, and put in amenities, improve access to the site, etc.

Either way - you will need to pay taxes accordingly, just like the rest of us!
if its mobile YES tell them you re a traveller
why would you want to?
A friend did something similar and was forcibly removed at the end of the month. The order also include a clause about not returning.
I think you should really check with your local council.
Having said that, i would probably just go ahead anyway to see what happens.
Its only a caravan and can be easily moved if necessary
Hope it all works out for you.
I was under the impression that planning permission was only required if the building was to be permanent. As you own the field, then you have the right to be on that property.

So long as you leave the wheels on the caravan and it does not prove to be an eyesore i.e. offensive graffiti on it then I am sure that you will be fine. Give it a go and see what happens. If the council try to remove it then they are trespassing on your land.
