If Tesco's is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks?

Answers:
NICE ONE but they shut saturday night
it dosent open at xmas or new year thats why! DUH
because it shuts on sundays
You have to secure the crime scene
I suppose they close on Christmas Day.
They have locks in the event they do have to close the store -whether for business reasons or emergencies.
because tescos closes sunday at 4pm till monday morning and they are closed xmas day and new years day.all supermarkets in the uk close on a sunday at 4pm
It shuts late on Sundays and Xmas Day of course!
Good question.and why is there a sign on the door that reads, ".keep this door unlocked during all business hours."

Why do we drive on a parkway, but park on driveway?

Why is it when you send something on a boat, its called cargo, but when you use UPS its a shipment?
The locks are used daily, only at very late hours in the night. Else they wont be there!
Never heard of that business, maybe all employees call out sick.

Bankruptcy another answer.
same thing with 7-11 and meijers. they are both open 24/7 and there are locks on them. but incase of an emergency or something they need to be able to lock them.
its not gonna be open on xmas day is it. They will use the locks to lock up so that noone can get in while all Tesco staff have a right good old knees up.
Your wrong its closed Christmas day!
because of holidays , and on sundays its not open 24 hours !
Only certain stores are open 24 hours from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday and public holidays (except Xmas day) it's usually open 10-4pm. Other stores opening times vary.
