Im not from port glasgow,but I am scottish.If it were me buying the flat,I would go and view 2 or 3 times.That way you can assess what the area is like,the types of people that are there.Keep your eye out for the neighbours,you will be able to tell by their attire what they are like.What I did when I was considering the house I am in now,was take a walk round and about the area at 9.00pm onwards.I did this a few times,to see if there were unsavoury characters hanging around.I also asked in local newsagents,etc what the area was like,and if there was any trouble.
yeh go ad veiw your flat at different times of the day,,, especially night, port glasgow is reknown for its ned culture. but possibly your area will be a buckfast free bergaus free zone with any luck.
