Back to benefit?

i am a lone parent in scotland and have just started work only to find that i am 30 pound a wee worse of than i was on benefit can i just quit work and go back on benefit or will i end up not gettin it cause i quit

Answers:
i cant answer that question but i just wanted to tell you how unfair it is. you're being punished for trying to make something of yourself. £30 a week is loads to be down on. if you can quit work then do it. you tried. it's not your fault the government needs to look at the benefits system.
I'm not sure about Scottish rules I'm afraid.

If you don't work in England i think jobseekers would eventually be stopped if you didn't get a job. Its very unfair but can you cope on the £30 less for a while then look to increase your working hours or look for a job on higher wages?

In England (not sure if applies to Scotland) you get Working Tax Credits to top up your wages if you don't earn enough but it makes sense as you're rewarded for working

Hope this helps a little, I'd contact the Citezens Advice for assistance relevant to the area you live in.

PS. Try not to give up your job. I'm a working mother and you do feel better knowing you're working to support your family x
I don't think you will get it because you are unwilling to work. What about child tax credits or working tax credits. I am a single mother with two young children and I work 42 hours a week to support my kids and i personally think I shouldn't have to support anyone who can work but won't, I do understand that 30 pound a week is alot of money to be missing out on but if your on a low wage there are other benefits you can look into claiming to boost your earnings the tax credits can also help with child care costs. Either way i go to work to prove to my kids that you have to earn a living yourself, just think of the example your setting and also once you are back at work other opportunities will arise that may lead to another job, higher wage it doesn't look very good on a c.v when your asked why you gave up your job. I bet the benefit people will put you on a new deal scheme or something and if they find you a job you will have benefits stopped if you refuse to work, and they will find you anything as long as your working they don't care how much a job pays you will be another gold star for their numbers when it comes to getting people back to work. Stick at it I've been there and although I'm struggling financially at least I'm setting a good example to the kids and opportunities are opening up for me.
dat is sick
