Im thinking of starting a Mobile Catering van business. What qualifications do you firstly need?

firstly..not a real word!..i think.Anywho.a license, a van, a kitchen, food,a license from the city to be a business,,,and a lot of luck!
a basic food hygiene or intermediate food hygiene certificate would be a good start. then you re probably going to need some sort of catering qualification like nvq lvls 2&3 in catering, then you re probably going to need money for a van, catering equipment, and last but not least a drivers licence. sorry its a bit vague but i hope ive given you an idea of what you need.

in the UK you need a food hygiene certificate which you can get at night school, you will also need to renew it every year.
In addition you will also need a licence from the County Council to trade and its very strict as to where and when you can trade. You will need public liability insurance in case you give a customer an illness or injure them. Your vehicle will also need the appropriate vehicle insurance as you will be carrying gas on board. And of course.you need knowledge..which mostly is common sense.

just basic is needed ,intermediate is useful too ,but not necessary .also apply to the local council where u are going to trade ,u will need a licence to trade on the street ,and phone the dept of health ,to look at ur van ,they will give u free advice ,these people are very good ,many cateres are afraid of the health people .they prefer to help u ,than close u down for being to unhygienic.go for it! im a qualified chef ,was thinking of doing this before ,could not find suitable land .also keep an eye out for all events ,concerts in ur area .contact organiser ,ask can u park ur van up and sell at these venues . basic health cert,phone health dept <advice> phone council<advice> ur ready to go !!!
