What are Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England called of UK? they are not regions or counties what are they?

Answers:
Officially called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a union of four countries.
Ok the FULL ttle is
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island
Great Britain = England, Scotland, Wales + islands
I suppose they are kingdoms! We think of them as separate countries united into one. Northern Ireland is not the same as Ireland though. Ireland is a separate country altogether.
