Why do women not wear stockings anymore?

Answers:
I wear sexy black stockings with long black boots!
the ones at my school do
I do silly! :)
because they keep them for father christmas of course
Some of us do. Its a whole lot healthier than wrapping your muff in nylon and feels so much nicer too. When wearing stockings you instantly walk taller and feel sexier. Tights are just wrong.
uncomfortable under jeans
my wife does in the winter
Because they make your feet stink.
Because they're for old ladies/teachers/school nurses. Stockings only look good in the winter when people are wearing closed toed shoes. The ones with the subtle patterns in them are making a comeback because they don't look so school marm-ish. White stockings should be banned.

And why are people talking about wearing them under jeans? If you have pants on, you don't need stockings!
With the stocking you need a garter to hold them up so some women wear panyhose instead.
because the ones with garters are uncomfortable and show under jeans and both kinds will show when you sit down wearing a short skirt. i do sometimes wear stockings, btw, there are occasions when they're just the right thing. ;-)
I do. Stockings with a line up the back. Can be very sexy with the right outfit!
My boss almost never does. She is in her 50's. I don't understand it. I guess styles change. On the up side the hosiery company's aren't hosing us anymore. That stuff is expensive! And sometimes its almost impossible to keep from getting a run.
They do, but nost of the time they just wear Hold Up's now, the straps etc of stockings can be irrating, and Hold Up's come on and off quicker!
i do
I think it is just because tights are more comfortable and don't show under clothes, plus suspender belts cost a fortune especially when girls want all matching undies. I agree though, it is a BIG pity
Legs are prettier than stockings.
i dont know, when i was younger, stockings were all the rage and i always wore them yet my daughters never wear them. shame as i think they are really sexy and look great.
Probably a greater proportion of dykes around nowadays who prefer butch clothing, which is causing the ratio to change.

But the girls that do still wear stockings are still looking fantastic !!
This may not apply to all women or at all times. There are outfits and situations that may or may not call for the use of stockings. This question is quite like asking: Why do men not wear neckties anymore?

I wonder why you asked.
takes too long to take of in the back street.
I wear them everyday to school and to work. I think pantyhose turned off so many women and girls, they are afraid to try stockings now.

Stockings are so much more sheer and practical than pantyhose, and make your legs look so great, unlike pantyhose, which usually make them look dull and fat. Everyone my age is starting to wear them, and won't totch grannyhose.
I love to
You really think it's true ?
As sales assistant in large hosery division, since a while I notice an increasing trend back to classy nylons. Pantyhose is out of fashion, hold up's actually less popular.
Young ladies do give a try to stockings worn with garterbelt more frequently.
I myself switched to stockings because they are more comfortable and cooler in summer. I am glad for this new experience. Couldn't imagine ever go back to PH or possibly bare legg, although garterbelt is needed. Not a problem for me and many other girls.
Man i was reading the answers to this one there are alot more ladies wearing stockings than pantyhose.just wish i was in a place where they would be more apparent

Thank you ladies.
