How should I package/post a musical instrument (cello)?
I need to post a cello within the UK and don't know how I should package it or where I could get a box big enough to put it in. Also what would be a good service to use for posting it? I live in Tyne & Wear.
Answers:
loads of bubble wrap in a big box and send with a courier like initial citylink
Well since it is a large package you can have it shipped or flown in 1st class. You can take it to a post office and buy one frome there probably.
Put it in a flight case made for a cello. They'll cost a LOT of money (they cost around £60+ just for a guitar) but its the only way to send it safely. Once in the case, lock it, and send the key separately for security.
Parcel Force probably do it, but you need to make sure whoever sends it has some guarantee, because lots of people will handle it on its journey, and it only takes one ignoramous to throw it around and damage it. The flight case should stop any damage, but you never know.
dont! hardly anythin eva gets 2 where it wants 2 go. especially with somethin like tha.
Pay me my petrol and a reasonable wage for one or two days depending on distances required and I will deliver the goods personally and safely in my estate car. You will get prompt and personal service, no other parcels to crush or damage your goods and the item will remain under my personal and exclusive care and control until safely delivered.
I have the time and transport. I need the money and unlike most courier or postal firms I actually care about musical instruments.
carefully
I am taking a cello course in Bangkok,Thailand. I have one imported from China. I was delivered via DHL. I received it with perfect condition. I am looking for a hard case for mine. It's quite expensive here in Thailand. By the way, if you are also a cellist, I might need an international cellist. Send me your e-mail.
Do not send it without insurance!
