Need a pub / bar in Angel, Islington to take clients?
Going to a gig next week with 10 clienst and I need a watering hole to take them before that is smart, lively, and located close to Angel tube - any recommendations.

the Camden head pub is good always busy and full of character take a right out of the station walk down the road its down a side street on you right after the Barclay's bank. Enjoy! on second thoughts probably not that smart though! loads of bars after the design centre! just take a right out of the station.
There is also the Slug and lettuce, treendy aned a bit closer to the Tube station.
The Angel end of Upper St has a lot of chain bars, Pitcher and Piano, Slug and Lettuce. If you walk up a bit there's more unique places like The Medicine Bar and Kinky Mambos.
The Elbow Room is also nearby, on Chapel Market. Lots of pool tables.
I like The Cedar Room, but that's closer to Highbury and Islington. It's got a good atmosphere,it's cosy and never too full but gets quite lively as the night goes on and the DJ is very good.
By Islington Green there is a branch of Waterstones. As you walk up from there towards Upper Street (a few feet) there is a new Chinese/Asian fusion bar with good food. Can't remember the name but it is clean trendy and not too noisy. May be worth checking out. Approx 5 mins walk from Angel
The Angel (part of the Lloyd's chain) is right opposite the tube station. They have many deals on drinks and food depending on the day of the week and they are cheap as well. Plus they have separate areas for smokers and non-smokers.
