What job do you do for a living and why did you decide that's what you wanted to do?

Answers:
I had decided even before, that once married, and if fortunate, I would become a mother and do my best to bring up my children to be good citizens. There were no instruction booklets, no degree, I had to learn as I went along. Whenever, I made mistakes, I had no tutor to turn to, however, I learn from my mistakes, and just carried on. Today, I am the proud mother of two successful sons, and I have just become a grandmother at 12 .30 this morning.

I've also decided to work as a voluntary worker, helping people worse off than myself to achieve their full potential.

I believe that I have had a very happy and fulfilling career. I have been fortunate in having a good husband to provide the bread on the table for myself and my family so I've never wanted for anything else. I believe that I made the correct decisions, and hope that I've made a difference.
Fire fighter
Because it easy and my wife likes the uniform
Stack shelves in a supermarket.. Nobody else would have me!
I teach math to high school kids.

I love math and I'm a people person so teaching just seemed like a natural thing to do.

Enjoy your day. :)
Waitress- never figured out what I want to do.
Legal Secretary.

Started working as a receptionist in a legal office. Changed jobs and was offered the secretary position. Really like it. Its interesting most days.
I'm a doctor.
I was interested in medicine and liked the idea of being able to help other people. I conveniently forgot about the crap hours until it was too late.
I am now a cleaner in an office - I work 45 hours a week from 6am till 8am and then 9am till 4pm.

I made this choice after working in offices as an administrator for many years. I got totally fed up with the office politics and working with stupid people with narrow minded views of EVERYTHING! I was tired of working for idiots too. Nearly every boss I have had in an office environment seemed to not know how to do the job that they are there for!

I now have a great job that I enjoy very much, a wonderful boss and am very happy!
im a nurse

School Bursar

I didn't decide it's what I wanted to do - just sort of fell into it and haven't managed to climb out yet. I used to think I would get a career of some sort but suddenly seem to have got too old.
Hi. I'm a Florist. I decided long ago that working in a factory, office or restaurant just wasn't for me. I have been working in the business for over 20 years and 4 years ago I bought my own shop. i love it. A new challenge every day. No two days are the same.
I'm an accountant. No I certainly didn't aspire to it, but got bored (is that ironic?) of everything else that I tried and decided to retrain in my thirties. I now have some very interesting clients, some with exciting businesses, which I'm involved with regularly, as their book-keeper etc. I also went self-employed, which means I can work when and where I want to, so I moved to the coast!
Dont understand the link between what I do for a living and what I wanted to do, I wanted to join the RAF and Police, but was unable to because my parents got sick before I left home.
I'm a business consultant - advising businesses on development, finance etc. I 'fell' into this job in my early twenties when I had no real goal or career in mind. I was unemployed for a short time and was sent on a course by the then DHSS (Benefits Agency) the management had a position as an enterprise adviser for start up businesses vacant, I applied and got the job.
Never looked back since.
I like to be my own boss.
i am currently looking for work bacause im a full time parent at the mo. i decided to do this because at the time i felt that bringing up my children un til school age was the right thing to do. they do well at school and are kind and polite and i believe that is down to me spending all my time with them from when they were born till school age. however, i am choosing to go to work now because they need the financial security what with trips meals uniform etc.
Customer Service Manager for a telecommunications company. I started out as a customer service rep, became the team leader, then my boss quit and I got her job by default. Not sure why I'm doing this job. I hate it, not what I want to be doing with my life at all. but it pays the bills.
