Did you include any Fairtrade products in your shopping trolley this weekend? And how about Local Produce?

Justice should be at the heart of us all, but sometimes it is not. Not everyone gets a Fair Deal. By buying local produce and supplementing these with products carrying the Fairtrade Mark, we'll be helping our own communities and communities in the poorer countries of the world to work their way out and stay out of poverty.

I totally agree with the whole Fairtrade ideal.

However I bought some fair trade chocolate from the co-op the other day and it was the most bland tasting chocolate I have ever tasted. I guess chocolate is a popular place for people to start if they are becoming aware of Fair Trade and let me tell you that chocolate is not doing the campaign any favours!
No not this time. It's not that I didn't want to but there was no Fair-trade or local products in store. I agree that we should try whenever possible to buy locally or Fair trade, but until the supermarkets get this kind of stock as standard there's not a great deal we can do!
