Why the same products are named diffrently in UK and rest of europe ? ex. Opel-Vauxhall, Sure-Rexona etc.?

I'm sure this is mostly down to marketting and promotion.
Vauxhall and Opel have been owned by GM for along time.
They used to sell both in Ireland (?)
Since the 1990's they reduced the ranges to badge differences but use Vauxhall in the UK because of its English Heritage.
Opel is used elsewhere because of its German heritage.
In the case of Sure-Rexona it probably has to do with the word having a recognised meaning in one language but not in others.
Take Oil of Olay, was also known as Ulay (UK) and Olax (Spain) !
Mr Clean (US) was Mr Proper in the UK and for some reason in the US he was made to wear a T-Shirt (?)
Other products have changed name over time.
I.E. Marathon => Snickers
not sure about the Sure-Rexona thing, but the Opel-Vauxhall thing is because they are both owned by General Motors, Vauxhall is the British end, Opel is usually on the continent.
