Why are dogs so nervous of fire flames and lighter flames?
Answers:
They have a healthy instinct for self-preservation!
same reason i am, they burn.
Mines not .... just the same reason as some people are - it's hot!
I think it could have something to do with the fact that they are color-blind. The flames must look pretty trippy to them. That and they are sensitive to temperature so they stay away from sudden and concentrated temperature.
Aren' you? Fire is HOT.
Almost all animals have an instinctual fear of fire. In the natural world, fire means trouble.
They are afraid that when you get drunk and start showing off to your friends about how cool you are when you can swallow lighter fluid in your mouth and then blow it out at a lighter just to watch the blow torch come spewing out, and only to then see that you did'nt do it right an then you spit on the dog and think it would be cool to lite em up too!
So you see that is why they run from you when you get ahold of the lighter fluid and a match.
I am afraid of those things too! lol
Not all dogs are..
all animals are afraid of fire. It's just instinct. They know that they hurt!
I think anyone would be frightened if you sparked a lighter in their face.
It's a natural fear of something dangerous. All animals have it, and humans should have it but.
Aren't people too? Dogs don't know what your going to do with fire!
Why do I not like the sound of this?
its very adaptive to be scared of these things! unfortunately mine is not, then again he's not the sharpest knife.
