What happens to a dog when it eats air gun pellets?
Answers:
Well, after owning a 70 pound dog for 3 years that will eat anything.he/she will probably just poop them out. Unless of course they were "shot" into him, then I'm just not sure.
It will sh*t like a machine gun ;o)
Seriously, they will just pass through and you will wonder what all the fuss was about.
Relax,
Graham
Ps. It won''t get lead poisoning. it would have to eat loads for that to happen.. Next time though make sure your pellets are RoHS compliant ;o)
it depends wether you shot them into its mouth or not ...if it jst ate them you need to take it to the vets nw as it will get lead poisoning... dnt sit here resding this move!!!!!!
As they are lead, you should do your best to prevent this happening. It will die of lead poisoning before long if you don't stop it.
Doggie metabolisms are REALLY tough. They're not at all like humans. They can digest most things, and the rest just passes straight through. After all they can grind up bones and digest them.
Don't worry about the "lead" issue either. i'd be surprised if those pellets were lead, they are liable to made of some unhazardous compound. They haven't been made of lead for years ( at least not in civilised Europe, can't speak for anywhere else)
It's no biog deal.
Pellets have no gun powder on them, should not hurt him, he will pass them in a couple of days. Just don't take him to an airport for check in he would not pass. lol
Please talk to your Vet. about this. Shot-Gun pellets are made of lead, and are very poisonous to any animal.
Water -Fowl commonly die from swallowing the lead weights from fishing line, so please consult the Vet.
Be carefull if he/she has wind you could be in trouble..!
Seriously though YOU WANNA BE CAREFULL & HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR YOUR DOG. They say animals are dumb.
Yea right!!
