When does a cocker spaniel come into her second heat if the first was at the end of january?

Should I worry that my little cocker spaniel has not come into her second heat yet she was 1 yr old in june and had her first heat at the end of janurary

Answers:
Most dog have a heat cycle about every six months.
Many go 8 - 9 months in between cycles it just depends on the dog.
If your dog does not come into heat with in a year of the last one I would be taking her to the vet to find out what is wrong.
No don't worry some they can come in heat any time after 6 months but I have some dogs that will come in heat 10 months latter. Mostly it is 8 moths though.
Spay your dog. there are to many unwanted dogs already
Dogs, like humans, do have irregular menstrual cycles (heat cycle).she may not come into heat every 6 months.if you are wanting to breed her, this may not be a good decision.
Dogs mature at different rates, just as teenage girls do..It is best, for many reasons, to hold off any breeding until her second birthday.
she is just still immature, and is not cycling regularly yet..this is an ideal time to have her spayed.
When she becomes regular, she will come in season about every 6 months, until she is spayed.
It is not abnormal to have 5-10 months for each heat cycle. You shouldn't worry until January '07. Your best bet, however, is to have her spayed. You greately decrease the probability for certain cancers and you eliminate all of the heat concerns as well as any complications which can occur with pregnancy.
Please have your dog spayed. 2-5 million animals are killed in shelters each year. Only responsible, eithical, experienced breeders should be breeding. And they should only be breeding to improve the quality of the breed. Simply having a friendly purebred dog does not mean she should be bred - keeping her unaltered puts her at much higher risk for cancer and young death.
u shood cos most dogs hav them every 6 months or so!
a girl dog can come into season about every six months
