Is my dog is unhappy?
i got my dog an operation done last year so she wont be pregnant anymore.and she was fine till now.now its the dogs seasons,and she looks very unhappy.its like she knows she cant get pregnant anymore.is she really unhappy about this?do you think she knows that she cant get pregnant anymore and shes unhappy? i dont understand i need help,what can i do for her?

I dont think she would be unhappy - I'm not sure a dog would be able to work it all out like a human could. Her body may well be doing strange things with her hormones that are making feel a bit down in the dumps, Try just making lots of fuss of her, distract her by play or little walks. She'll soon snap out of it I'm sure xxxx
You could get her a little stuffed puppy to act as a real one, or get a real puppy that she can take care of.
She might be suicidal.
You may have something, dog are sensitive , and know when something is not right.
yes she knows what you've done to her, she's saying to herself, oh l see she can go out and get pregnant but not me, huh humans

Do you take her on walks?
Because if you dont then try taking her on walks to like a local park with other dogs and see if she happier after a week or two.
My dog had a short course of anti-depressants (just over 4 weeks
) when he became depressed - howled from the moment I left his side until I returned despite the fact that there was still someone in the house with him. I would see your vet - but I would try the stuffed toy option as well.
My vet also prescribed a pherenome dispenser which plugs into the wall and heats up putting dog pherenome into the air to calm and comfort dogs.
Your vet will be able to give her a full check up and take bloods to check for hormone levels.

I know dogs and birds are unilike. But we rescued two baby birds after they fell out of there nest and the mom had been killed by a hawk that almost got the babys. We brung them in, and tried to fed them. Then , I got a stuffed bird and they waddled up to it so fast and they thought it was there mom. So, you should get a few stuffed puppy's and give them to the mom. Just let her love on them. Sometimes, females like your dog like to take care of the master's kids. They'll lick them and protect them like there own.

we had same problem with german shepherd,i bought a motion activated stuffed toy,so that when we are out at work,every time she walked past it,the arms would move,and it would bark and whine,after getting familiarised with the toy,she came out of her depression and now she will lift up the toy with her teeth,and wants to take it for walks when we go to the park with her,strange but true,good luck!
Don't worry, she doesn't know or understand what has happened. If anything you will have given her the chance to live a longer and healthier life so well done, you made the right decision.
